Bio: I met my wife while teaching in Marquette. Her mother’s family was from Suttons Bay (1872) and my father’s was from Isadore (1872), so she wanted to move to Leelanau. But, I persuaded her to move with me to Montana and we’ve been here 40 years. I’ve had a few working careers; teaching (public and private school, college and university), a partnership in a software development firm, finance and writing. We have three sons, who provide plenty of interesting stories. One is a fish biologist, one is a student of computer software languages and one is an M.D. And, in keeping with family tradition, high school academics were something of an afterthought. I miss Traverse City and Leelanau in the fall, especially Lake Michigan, and the smell of the woods in October. Someday, we hope to come home for a visit.
