Ellen Elizabeth Bailey
December 7, 1945 – February 25, 2021

Ellen Elizabeth Bailey, 75, of Traverse City passed away Feb. 25, 2021 at her home.
Ellen was born on Dec. 7, 1945 in Traverse City to the late Rudolph and Jane Ester (Noteware) Bohaboy. She attended Traverse City schools and graduated in 1964. She would eventually marry and have three wonderful children, Joseph, Laura, and Rainey (Adraine), whom she loved dearly.
Throughout her life she was a proud homemaker raising her children and worked many different retail jobs. In her spare time, she enjoyed ceramics, painting, puzzles, sewing, and movies. In her younger years she lovingly handmade all of her children’s Halloween costumes and school program outfits.
Surviving Ellen are her children, Joseph Bailey, of Traverse City, Laura Korby of Westland, and Rainey Noteware, of Fife Lake; grandchildren, Michael, Ashely, and Christopher; sisters, Marilyn Schrock and Martha Playter; her beloved cat, Sassy; and many other loving family members and friends.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Darren Korby; grandson, Jeff Pataky; nephew, Tony Erickson; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Schrock and Keith Playter.
Inurnment will take place at the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Father Fred Foundation or the Women’s Resource Center.
A memorial service will be held on May 22, 2021 at a location to be announced.
